Stone stacking has itself become a spiritual practice, with practitioners assigning prayer or gratitude to the Devine to each stone stacked. Many see the practice as an artform. Rock stacking has carried spiritual meaning across cultures for centuries. The act of balancing stones carries with it a practice of patience and a physical effort of creating balance. Each rock can signify an intention of grace for thankfulness, or offered up for another in need. These prayer rocks will not be seen again in this formation. They are usually stacked near waterways so they may be washed away naturally in order to create a blank slate for another artist.
